Graham McFarland - Federal Candidate Electorate of Greenway
"I have written this book focused on a
non-biased, non-gendered, zero agenda point of view.
My belief has been and will always be that all children deserve both parents in their life.
Sadly, the Australian community and political prejudices do not allow this to occur"
Graham McFarland

After 4 years the dads have retired, as this is an expensive hobby !
We aim to be an inclusive and supportive show where listeners can connect with other local dads to chat about anything to do with fatherhood and life in general.
The Dads Radio Show is a show connecting like-minded dads in Sydney, linking listeners to men with similar interests.
The Dads Radio Show gets their audience to engage with the show, with light humour through dad jokes, and banter among men, but dealing with the real pressure’s parents (especially dads) face every day.

The Dads Radio Show is brought to you by Darrell "DMill" Milton, Roy "Rockin Roy"Padlan and Graham "GMAC" McFarland.

Graham started his journey working within the community after family separation 18 years ago. At the time there was not a lot of support mechanisms for single parents moving away from violence, and in his case nothing for dad's. Today in Blacktown City council, there still isn't.
Graham has helped people navigate the impossible world of the Family Law Courts, Children Access road blocks and Separation challenges.
He has petitioned State and Federal Parliaments, and worked tirelessly representing community members in front of all levels of politics.
Graham for the last few years has been mentoring mentally disabled men, helping them manage a valued sustainable independent life.

If you have had a family member fall on hard times after family separation, he would be someone you may call to navigate separation, and finding a new home.
Grahams network focuses on connecting individuals with community support, help furnishing their new home. This community finds resources to supply essentials items, removing the financial burden of resettling again.
In 2020 alone, Family Crisis Support helped 230 families in North West Sydney.

Graham has a successful career that he is passionate about, in the Retail, Motor Vehicle Repair, Vehicle Accessory Manufacturing and Consumer Electronics , Electrical Manufacturing industries.
He works for a large Australian manufacturer. His 30 year senior management experience add value to the community, and support initiatives in line with the community expectations.

2019 Australian Election, Graham McFarland self funded himself to run as a candidate, not affiliated to any major parties.
During his 8 month campaign, Graham walked 256km’s, walking the streets of the Greenway Electorate. You would see him at the local shopping centres, railway stations and every day at the election
Graham McFarland—known locally as GMAC—is the author of these books and a powerful example of what one determined Australian man can achieve when faced with life’s greatest challenges. Like many, Graham married young, believing he was doing the right thing. What followed, however, became the catalyst for his lifelong mission: fighting for fairer family laws and supporting fathers and families through separation.
After his marriage ended, Graham moved his young family back to Sydney, settling in Glenwood, northwest of Parramatta. The move was driven by love and foresight—placing his children close to extended family and quality local schools. Yet the separation brought devastating financial strain. Child support consumed most of his income, pushing him toward homelessness despite full-time work and the absence of meaningful government support.
Worse still was the parental alienation that followed. For years, Graham was largely excluded from his children’s lives. The laws and community biases of the time overwhelmingly favoured mothers, leaving many fathers sidelined. By the mid-2000s, Graham found himself in deep depression—physically present but emotionally removed from the daily joys of fatherhood, watching his children grow up from the margins.
Graham is a fighter by nature, and this injustice refused to define him. Determined to create a fairer outcome, he discovered the “Dads in Distress” support group and connected with its inspiring leader, Tony Miller. There, he found purpose, brotherhood, and practical knowledge. The group offered more than sympathy—they provided legal insights, actionable plans, and the unwavering belief that this was only a temporary setback.
Energised, Graham committed to becoming the best father he could be. He prioritised his own wellbeing, rebuilt his fitness, and immersed himself in learning—studying family law, constitutional rights, and successful cases. He surrounded himself with like-minded people and focused relentlessly on growth. Slowly, the tide turned. From occasional visits, he progressed to 50/50 shared care, and eventually became the full-time primary carer of his children.
Between 2015 and 2018, Graham stood visibly outside the Parramatta Family Law Courts, raising awareness and offering hope to men navigating the same painful journey. He founded Family Crisis Support, creating real solutions where none existed: emergency accommodation for separated fathers, furniture donations to help them rebuild homes, free legal seminars, food vouchers, and petrol assistance. Through his growing network of dads, countless men moved from crisis to stability.
Graham learned firsthand the deep-seated prejudices that had persisted for decades. Politicians and councillors often acknowledged the problems privately but labelled family law reform a “nuclear bomb”—too politically dangerous to touch. Undeterred, Graham and six fellow advocates took bold action. In the 2019 Federal Election, they ran as independents.
Graham self-funded his campaign and walked over 260 kilometres door-to-door in his electorate. Their goal wasn’t victory at the polls but to amplify the conversation.
Their efforts helped shift the national dialogue. Later that year, Prime Minister Scott Morrison established a committee to address the 60 recommendations from the 2017 Family Law review—sparking long-overdue scrutiny of Australia’s “broken family law” system.
Today, Graham is a proud young grandfather who has found deep love and partnership. He and his remarkable fiancée, Alexia, got engaged on the banks of Lough Derg near Youghalarra, Ireland—his ancestral homeland. He remains a vibrant voice in the community, co-hosting The Dads Radio Show weekly, where fathers openly discuss fatherhood, life’s challenges, and triumphs.
Graham’s books were born from over a decade of conversations with thousands of men facing separation. They capture the most common questions, fears, and uncertainties he has heard, offering practical guidance, hard-won wisdom, and—most importantly—his positive, contagious attitude toward life.
Graham McFarland’s journey proves that even the darkest chapters can become the foundation for something greater. Through resilience, community, and unwavering determination, he transformed personal adversity into a powerful force for change—lighting the way for countless others to rebuild stronger, fight fairer, and emerge with renewed hope.
